We will be introducing a new prescription ordering system for all of our patients at Pontesbury & Worthen Medical Practice.

If you collect your medication from either Pontesbury Surgery or Worthen Surgery you will be given a letter detailing the new system.

The new system will come into affect after you have next collected your medication.

You will need to order your next month’s worth of medication 7 days before they are due to run out. There are different ways of doing this. The first way of ordering your medication is through the NHS App. This is the same App that can be used to view your medical record and to get a COVID vaccination pass. More information on the NHS App can be found here

The other option is for you to complete the slip that you receive with your medication each month by ticking the medication that you require and dropping this into our dedicated post boxes at both Pontesbury surgery and Worthen surgery. We will also accept completed repeat slips through normal post.

If you are unsure about setting up the NHS App we have staff that would be more than happy to help. Please contact the practice and leave your details with reception and we can get in touch with you to help with other options, including giving friends and family access to the App so they can order on your behalf.

In order to save you making unnecessary trips to the surgery, we can also let you know when your medication is ready to collect via text message, if you are not able to receive text message please let us know and we can discuss other ways of letting you know.

Our goal for this new system is to reduce errors and ensure that your medication is ready for you when you need it whilst also reducing wastage of unwanted medications being prepared. Ultimately, we are putting this system in place so that we can give all of our patients the best possible experience when dealing with us.
